Asylum seeker boat thought to be carrying Somalians arrives in Darwin

An asylum seeker boat arrived in Darwin on Monday night carrying an unknown number of people, Guardian Australia has learned.

It is believed that the asylum seekers are being held at the Blaydin alternative place of detention near Darwin, according to multiple sources.

The passengers are thought to be from Somalia and include children. Blaydin alternative place of detention is a centre for families.

Under current government policy the asylum seekers are expected to be transferred to Manus Island or Nauru within 48 hours.

Calls from Guardian Australia to customs and border protection, the Australian maritime safety authority, Blaydin, Darwin port authorities and contractor Serco were all directed to the office of immigration and border protection.

Calls to immigration minister Scott Morrison’s office went unreturned. The department’s current media protocol is to hold weekly briefings on Fridays.

According to customs and border protection releases, 10 asylum seeker vessels have arrived since the federal election.

One thought occurred to me as I was commuting home today.

You see, apparently Morrison refused to answer questions relating to the reports of a Boat arriving in Darwin in Parliament Today.

Now, they can gag talk about it in the press, they can hide from due scrutiny in Parliament.
But they can't stop us, the people, from posting images of hapless Asylum seeker Boats that have landed just off shore from our major ports.
Social Media will very quickly highlight the deception of this, the 44th Parliament, and that is what will destroy Tony.
You can't noble the internet, Tony ;D
BTW, did you know that in Chinese numerology, 44 is the Number of Death ?

Such media may become the only way Freddy as Bishop is going to have the House controlled just as tightly as Abbott could wish and politics will recede from the front pages just as the conservatives have wish and planned.

It's going to be very hard for them to deny about boats when people have splashed pictures of them, landing in Darwin, on their Face Book Pages.
