I have just been prescribed glasses. To cut to the chase, I am far sighted, and my glasses are primarily for reading, although they're great for attaching a rig to your line . One thing that I have noticed is that over distance, things get blurry. What I am trying to say is, is this normal ? Would wearing my newly acquired specs all the time, in the hope that I'll get used to it be the way to go, or should I just confine wearing them to reading, using the PC, or Tele (animations, such as 'Archer' are suddenly in HD ) ? Then there is that all my female colleagues tell me that I look very, very sexy with my specs on to consider ;D

Sounds like you would have been better off with multi-focal lenses? Or at least bifocal. I developed myopia around the age of 22. In the last 10 years I have needed reading glasses too. The best option for me was to get multi-focal glasses. Expensive! However, they are very good. Only one pair of glasses required for all occasions. They take some getting used to at first, but after a while, one gets the hang of 'em. I suppose stem cell science will eventually see the end of corrective lenses. Exciting times ahead for my future grandchildren.

Multi-focal glasses might be an option, don't know how effective they would be for far-sightedness though. For general purposes (walking around, driving etc) I can get by without them. It's just for things close up that they have made a real difference, but I am getting jack of constantly putting them on and off my head.

I have bifocals but the line is invisible. They work great, I can't see tiny print without them but far off I can see anything clearly with or without them. I wear them to work inplace of safety glasses.
